Pistol Shells

Okay, I'm a very very very basic modder. Never really done much more than swapping weapons in and out of other mods, making explosions bigger etc.

The thing that kinda bugged me about HL2's pistol was the lack of ejected shell casings. I've seen a thread on this in the past (When I was a total newbie, didn't know what I was looking at) and I can't seem to find it now. So, how, if it's possible, do I add ejecting shells on the pistol? Some kind of script? Do I have to edit the model files?

I believe you have to modify the C++ code to add this.
Also, I think the HL2's pistol (HK-something) was shell-casing-less. It was a prototype that never made it to the market, I think there's a video of it somewhere on Hekkler and Koch's website.
 
You may be thinking of the G11 PDW, which was their only caseless handgun. You can see it here.

What is in Half-Life 2 is the H&K USP Match, which is deffinetly not caseless.

The reason I posted this was because I found a weapon model to replace the USP in-game, and it spent brass. So I don't think it's a hard-code thing (The model was poorly done and barely worked, that's why I don't use it).
