Plea to purchase via Steam

So folks, the time has nearly come and I see more and more people inquiring as to where they can purchase the game at a midnight sell time. I don't know if it's just me, but wouldn't you want to have as many purchases via steam as possible? I've read several times that developers get $7 if bought retail and possibly more then $30 if purchased via steam. Wouldn't you want to purchase it via steam and ensure that Valve ( the creator of the game. duh. ) gets paid for their hard work? I suppose purchasing through steam would also insure similar quality from them in the future as they would have the required funding to develop another game of this calibur. So! Fans of Valve! Bust out those credit cards! Supply your parents with the required funds! Support our developer heroes!

No. Valve is gonna be rich no matter how you stroke it. I want my Retail copy for the box and shit. Plus, because im buying CE in store, my box wont be punched suckaz!

but your cd-key "may already be in use" from retail ****wads swiping the key for themselves or a friend..

I already have a steam ordered version but I will be getting a retail version at some point to set up an second account at my home away from home

Steam for me VALVe can have more of my money.

I betcha, that each copy purchased via steam is the equivalent to an hours worth of development time for a single employee as opposed to.... 10-15 minutes?

I understand that it's unrealistic to have everyone purchase through steam because, well... thats just not possible. But the more the merrier, wouldn't you folks agree?

This may sound selfish, but I don't really care at all. I would have gotten a retail copy, but since I had to buy through steam in order to get CS:S early I decided to do it that way.

I'd still rather have a retail box though.

I suppose I can kinda understand people wanting to have a CD and a box. I got my GOLD box stuff , and it made it all the way to Japan with out being punched. :thumbs:
