Please help!!

I'v just lost 12hrs of game play and had to rebot computer with system restore so have to start from scratch again. HL2 is installed but when I launch it the computer crashes and then restarts. Cant get game running for the last week and have tried everything. this is my last resort - please someone help!!!!
Stats:
1Gb ram, 256mb ram graphics(seperate)
NVIDIA geforce 6200se turbocharge
2.93Ghz processor
320GB HD

This checks your copy of HL2 if it's complete and not corrupted (the system restore might have removed some parts)

I have the same problem with Half Life 2! I got the demo. I tried to play it and my computer crashes, restarts and windows throws a report that graphics card had a major problem. But later on I tried again and it worked and loaded but again now when I try to play it Half Life 2 crashes again when loading the game and restarts the computer. Why it crashed then decided to work and now crashes again I do not know. I have updated the graphic card driver and that helps none.

My system:
1 gig Ram
NVIDIA geforce 6200se turbocharge
2.2 Gig AMD Processor
