This is a ceiling to ceiling portal in TC 19, try it yourself to see if you get it too.

that's messed with my head.. what should it look like

Yeah, well there are of course some inherent problems with portal idea aside from the physics violations. Like when you fall through a portal, you should be coming out feet first right, but if the exit portal is on the ground, you would be coming out on your head upside down. In reality you would eventually come to equilibrium with the portal interface at your centre of gravity, a bit below your bellybutton, with your head on one side and your legs sticking out the other side. Also, if you are halfway through a portal, there should be an infinitely sharp edge at the boundary. If you push on this, is should be able to support some weight or maybe cut you or something. In real life you could use this portal edge to create a place to stand on where there is nothing at all to stand on.

I like how you intepret real-life physics into a game that defies all logical physics as we know it.

..You're not Companion-Cube worthy.

This is another bug I found on my first playthrough, the Portal should act as an edge but for some reason it didn't.

This is another bug, at the very start you can push the radio through the wall, next to where the portal is created, out onto the outside of the vault.

If I understand your correctly I should point out that you can do this in-game.

Operational, first one is because the portal is actually square (makes falls and such a lot easier), only the effect is circular.

^^ I was think the same thing.

My point was that in the commentary Valve talks about this very idea (ceiling to ceiling portals) and here I find an easy to reproduce bug about it that cuts off my legs.

There was one point after you "ran away" that a a portal was created between the ground and the bars that covered it.
