The demo's comin' and I can't wait! The devs said that the demo will change a lot of people's mind from thinking its basically Doom 3 or some such. Now that sounds exciting since I was in that camp for a while. I am very excited for this one!

Has everyone here seen the long Prey video? I think it was the one used at E3, but I'm not sure. Are they talking about a real demo that you can play or a preview?

Doom 3 had those annoying secret closets. In Prey they replaced those with annoying monsters popping behind you using portals. Prey does it far more intelligently for sure (and the portals can feed into the gameplay), but I find it still a cheap way to create situations. Having said this, waiting for the demo to see if it's worth the hype.

Prey will also have the old locked room until x monsters are killed, cheap way to just lengthen gameplay

Prey still looks a bit too "Doom 3-ish" to me, hopefuly the demo will change my opinion. I also hope Prey won't have such high system requirements, at least not much higher than Quake 4 (if Q4 was playable then make Prey playable too).

I sure hope it won't be "locked room until x monsters are killed", don't want another Painkiller (it was good, yeah, but don't want more ).
