problem pleases help

when i go to load up half life 2 i get the following error:

Steam.exe (main exception): unable to load library steam.dll

does any1 no how to solve this

Have you installed Half-Life 2 yet?
If not, uninstall Steam and donwload and install it from the main site (Link)

ive done that but it still comes up with the same error

Here is my Steam.dll (Put in WinRAR, a compression program. Download WinRAR here : Link). Just put it in the main Steam folder (but first make a backup of your original DLL file by copying it to another folder).

Try installing Steam in an entirely different folder. (First uninstall it)
