Problem with Black Mesa East (not spoilers, includes some early plot--no givaway)

I am currently playing the game and I just started the level Black Mesa East. I follow Dr. Mossman to the elevator, and once she finishes talking about the human transport technology vs. that of the Combine, she just stands there and I can't continue. No matter what I do, she stands right outside the elevator and the elevator won't go anywhere. I've tried reloading the game many times, but that hasn't helped at all. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks!

Tried entering the elevator with her? You're supposed to travel downwards. And when you've entered the elevator, press he on her, and WAIT. Don't ****ing run out of it like an idiot.

Thanks for your quick replies guys! I've tried pressing e all over the place and to no avail. She just stands next to the button that she pressed to call the elevator and when she is done talking, she doesn't move. I have tried staying well behind her and out of her way and also tried staying close to her, but nothing works. Any more ideas?

I think this might be a bug, a few people have mentioned it. Go back to an earlier save point, or move around in the elevator, do what destrukt says, try trigger her to move, heck try push her too heh.

Aaaah. I have gone back to all of my saves excluding the ones from the first level when I run into the human and alien administrators of the underground canal system. Pushing her around doesn't work, shooting her doesn't work, heck even throwing grenades around does nothing. And pressing buttons gets me nowhere either... :'(

Just load the next map then, should all be ok, you'll just miss some of it.. oh and email Valve about it, see if it is a real bug or not.

hmm oh wait, isn't it ai_restart, not just restart.. scroll through the ai commands, or type find ai and see whats in there, might be something that way too, sure beats skipping maps.

This is not a problem with the illegal version. People seeing this ai freeze bug in the game see it on every character, so this is not that, besides several people have reported this.

Yeah, go to Best Buy and get one of them boxes with the picture of Gordon Freeman on it. Then go to the cashier and pay for it.

Install the game.

Get all depressed and jump out the window? I don't know.
Anyhow, press `. And then look at top right corner, it should say level name and then some number at end. Type in changelevel the name and 1 number higher than what is written. Tada...You missed some but you can play.
