Problems (Or maybe not?) with EP2

I woulg like an answer to this before i carry on, because i dont want to ruin the game.

When the game actually begins, i walk thru the wreckage and too the bottom. Damn im stuck until Hurrah! Alyx appears..cept shes quiet...too quiet...in fact shes a god damn mute. Shes not speaking at all, which considering the constant conversation from EP1 shocked me.. still i left it be... Got out walked around oh yeah.. then we saw a stunning view of City 17, and then bang some sort of shockwave took out the bridge crushing the cars we've just come from...and still silence...

So my question is this:

Has everyone elses Alyx been quiet or is my game broken? ^^ If its the latter and your Alyx's talked thier cute little butts off, can someone give a clue as wtf im supposed to do now?!

I actually have another problem now.

Audio is fixed, no worrys it appeared to be a common problem. However now my game keeps locking up, and then starting, and then locking up again. Its gettin so annoying. Just updated graphics drivers, but made little difference. i got an error and a complete crash saying nv4 drivers are not working properly. Tried reinstall but did nothing. Turned down loads of graphics, even resolution 800x600, which seemed better, but once i turned it up it went again :(

Any ideas?

Specs: AMD Athlon Dual Core 3800 2.01 ghz
2GB Ram
Gforce 7950 GT graphics card

The error itself, is just constant freezing and then starting again. Its like the game locks up then carries on... every 5 mins.

The message itself said something along the lines of:

nv4 graphics drivers have stopped working properly. Please reboot your computer and troubleshoot blah blah, and contact microsoft about this fault.

This msg only appeared once when the game actually crashed. Other times when it locks up it just carries on when it finishes been locked. Once when it started again, parts of the level just went black and blurry, but i could still see my pistol, health etc

How did you fix this? I'm having this issue
 
Yeah, just go into your language options, right click on the game in steam, select any other language, and then swap it back to English> Sounds werid, but it worked for me. Because then steam starts updating, the game and bam, got audio lol,

Still got my problem though ^^ Can';t even play the game
 
Have you tried reinstalling your graphics drivers? If that doesn't work try the newest ones, and if that doesn't work poke around online to find out the best drivers for your card.

On the offchance that it's an overheating issue, you could also download Rivatuner and bump up your GPU fan speed. Or try turning off things like motion blur, HDR etc.
 
lol at the rate were going this is going to turn into a mystery :P

Tried reinstalling Graphics drivers, tried installing latest ones, older ones, and the best ones.

Its not an overheating issiue, as i know the noise PC makes, when its overheating had a HUGE issue with overheating last summer, so i'd know exactly if it was overheating, but good try alot of people have guessed that.

I've turned off HDR, motion blur, turned anti aliasing down, and even run it at 800x600 and i get the same problem! :(
