Problems right from the start...

according to a walkthrough I should do this in the beginning of the game.

"Walk with Alyx towards the scenic shot of the broken citadel. There, a shockwave strikes you and OPENS a passage to the mine shaft previously blocked by a metal fence. Use the gravity gun to remove the fence, so you and Alyx can enter the mine."

The thing is, the Fence is still there, in one piece.
Anyone else had the same problem?

The second thing, are there supposed to be all these "Error" sings everywhere? Feels like there is something wrong with my game.. :rolling:

Go to steam and verify integrity of game-cache. Right-lick on Episode 2 and go to local content, the option is there.

Yes, i Do have steam.
I?ve been playing the HL series since the start.
If I would have DL the game I wouldn?t be stupid and come here to cry about a bad crack.

The big red errors represent missing textures, or other game elements. It's probably pretty common with warez versions, so understandably suspicious. But if you're legit, an integrity check as mentioned is a good idea. At worst you may need to uninstall and reinstall.

"feels like there is something wrong with my game" - REALLY? you think? i cant believe you even asked if large red error signs are part of the game.

considering that its virtually impossible to have anything (files etc) missing from a valve/steam game because of the way it makes you go online to logon and check for updates etc, id say (based on what you have presented so far) you have a stolen/pirated copy. but feel free to prove otherwise.

i agree. it must be one of the standard questions they get taught to ask at moron school, along with "why cant my 10 year old system run crysis?" and "what should i do when my games keep crashing and saying my drivers are out of date - should i update my drivers?"

or the previosly mentioned gem in this thread: "is there supposed to be huge red "error" signs all over the place in the game?".

Alltough some Folks started their "nice" replys with acussing me of stealing, I got the help I needed.

ive seen plenty of pirates come here looking for help. the stupid thing you did was to even ASK if his copy was illegal. did you REALLY think that a pirate would say "yep, i got my game illegally, now help me with it"?
