Problems with audio

well I guess it's not the audio as much as the speech. The in-game speech of HL2e2 (and portal also, which I got with it, y'know, orange box) is not working. The characters move around and do scripted gestures, but they are not talking. I turned on the subtitles, and those are working just fine, so I have no idea what is up. is anyone else having this problem.

The original hl2 and episode 1 are working fine.

I suspect it may be because I downloaded a third party mod called "riot act", and it had different character voices than the usual, but I don't know how that would affect it.

Make sure you are fully preloaded...the guy in the thread below yours had the same problem...

In steam, change the language for EP2 and Portal to german, apply, then change it back again, apply.

Games will decrypt, maybe download a bit more, audio will work.

Yeah, I restarted steam and it started downloading again, even though it was supposed to be finished. I'll leave it to itself for a while while it downloads. Thanks for the info!
