Ok, the problem is probably something my compy is doing, but for some reason, steam tells me it's servers are busy... ALWAYS.. I have been trying to install HL2DM for the last 2 weeks, at different times of day (12 am, 12pm, and anywhere in between).

Are there any known problems with computers that could cause this, or are the servers really that busy?

close steam

delete ClientRegistry.blob found in c:\program files\valve\steam and then start steam again.

See if that helps.

Is that file used for anything else?

I did not install steam in it's default location. I know where it "seems" to be, I can install mods etc. but there is no folder called "Valve"

:: edit ::

nevermind, I found it, I'm a dumbass. :rolling:

but it still does not download. Anything else that I should know about this?

What the hell, I am entitled to a copy of this, but can't get one. This BS is ing me off. I tried everything and don't understand how the hell they could be so busy?

I tried deletion of the file, but it did not help???

COuld it have to do with the fact that I am on windows xp and don't have administrator privelages set on? (I can turn them on)

I tried running steam on my admin account but it just crashed!

I need some help he damnit! what the !

Is there any know alternate way to install hl2dm?

Uninstall steam and reinstall.

Make a backup of your gcf's and custom maps and mods or whatever.

Install Steam. (Normal directory plz) Paste your stuff back in. Everything should work.

can't do that, if I put it in C: then my non-admin half of the compy can't acess it.
