Purchase troubles

Now I know this may not deserve a new thread but I couldn't find any specific information about my dilemma, and I was also wondering wether someone else was in my same trouble.

So, the thing is that buying via Steam is not an option for me. It just happens that I live on a very nice island called Iceland. Here they have this thing where we must pay extra for each MB downloaded over our initial prepaid quota. So say I download the whole game through Steam (est. 3GB) it would add up to about $104 extra to the original $60 - $70 that we must pay for the initial quota.

Now here is my question, is there no other way to get DoD:S then off of Steam?? In wich case I will have to buy both the CE (because of the DL costs) and also the silver edition and only DoD:S (and pay extra in DL charges)??

Anyone else in my situation?

Well unless you can buy it retail I dont think there is another way. Or maybe if your lucky some people might sell it on ebay and u can get it that way.

If you have a friend that doesn't have bandwidth limitations, they can download it for you and burn it on to CD or DVD. You can then copy the files that way.

Yeah, that was kinda what I was thinking. The thing being that I don't have any friends in the states (or outside of Iceland) and everyone here is bound by these limitations. Kinda sucks... ;(

Well, he was once contacted about setting up a mirror here but I never heard the outcome of that. They took down the address of the ISP here (the main one, by far the biggest) but then nothing happened. Maybe I should press him on it?

Well come to america, and sue vivendi for not having an isp where you live (you know u actually could probably sue for that..infact u could sue for anything..not saying you woudl win but ya never know!).
. Use that money to pay for the extra bandwidth, ill pay for your flights.

Seriously though... the rates here are criminal. Plus the recent police actions just pretty much wiped out our entire peer2peer network (Oh yeah, any internet traffic locally, as in from an icelandic server to an icelandic server/client whatever... is free.). So now we don't have anything left except the extreme charging of extra bandwith...
