putting barrels upright

Hi All,

Im having serious trouble turning barrels upright that have fallen over...I end up bouncing/shoving them onto wall hoping for the best :upstare:

Does anyone have any good tips on how to do this?

I usually set them half-onto any edge of a surface, let them fall a bit then pick them back up. something like that.
Basically, set them on the edge, and if they have more weight on the edge with nothing below it, they'll start to fall that way, turning upright in the process (just grab them before they hit the ground and tip over again)

Fangs has it. If you have problems with them tipping back over rather than settling (uneven ground) then grab them again as they drop then place them where you want them. Dead easy once you get the knack.

Just use the Grav guns primary fire, and wait for it to rebound of a wall etc and then when it's vertical grab with the secondary fire, alot more fun then the 1st method

That makes me think I got the habit later in the game of breaking crates with the gravity gun by picking them up and throwing them at walls. Much faster than crowbarring. They don't seem to break when you just use the primary fire right away on them though.

The best method is to face one end of the barrel from either the top or bottom and then grab it with the grav gun. All you then have to do is look up and the barrel will turn upright. Then just let go and with a bit of luck it will land vertically. Either that or you could just grav it again with the grav gun just before it hits the floor.

Yeah I just got into the habit of picking up crates and blasting them into the floor- you can grab them from miles away, even stuff hidden from reach by fencing is brought to your grasp by the grav gun.......I love it!

The best tip has already been given, in that the object held by the grav gun will turn as you look around, so with a bit of practice you can manipulate it how you want- and if all else fails, give it a blast with the primary and try again
