They're both the same in terms of video card requirements/recommendation right?

Yes, but Episode One may have a tiny bit higher requirements if you want to play with HDR lighting enabled.

I disagree. To me, Episode One needs more requirements than Half Life 2. In my case anyway.

That's you, Xen, not everyone. There are other computers.

As I recall, Episode 1 has higher end textures.

of course it needs higher reqs. say u got a geforce 4 and u played hl2 smoothly. you would neva be able to play ep1 with that card due to lack of hdr.

A quick trip to www.steampowered.com shows that the requirements are the same for Half-Life 2 and Episode One. Although take it from someone who as a rapidly aging computer that you will need to turn down the settings for Episode One.

They are not the same. I had to get a new card to play Ep. 1. The game would freeze 90% through the very first load.

Not true. I played Ep2 (edit: Ep1) absolutely fine with GF4MX. Of corse, with no DX9 support (HDR, reflections,...)

heer0. at first I thought you made an error. But now that I have seen it twice, I understand that you are actually one of Episode 2's playtesters! So, tell us! What's the new AI like?

...
