I have two steam accounts....one with HL2 and all the goodies and one with all the old HL games....is there a way to combine the two?

when I bought hl2 retail 1 year ago I couldn't remember my old steam password, but I found it written down somewhere today, and i want to merge the accounts.

You can't merge accounts, you can start a support ticket on www.steampowered.com and have them reset the hl2 retail cdkey so you can link it to your old account. TBH I'd just jump between accounts, its not hard to do.
