Regarding the Steam releases tomorrow

Ok, so Half Life 2 is being released via Steam tomorrow at 11:00 AM, does this mean I will be able to "play" Half Life 2 tomorrow at 11:00 AM?? Shouldn't it be going Gold first before being released? I'm kind of confused, because if it's going to be playable tomorrow, then I need to get a new video card and some more RAM in my computer before I play..

It's only a pre-order. You cannot play Half-Life 2 tomorrow. You can play Counter-Strike: Source though, HL2's multiplayer.
