Released mod looking for a few good men.

I say 'released' with some reservation... From the very beginning we've adopted an open development environment. So in actuality the mod--Fueled--has been released since its first build.

The skinny:
HL2: Fueled is an MP-TC. That makes us special right? I mean how many mods are multiplayer AND a total conversion (if you didn't sense sarcasm in that last sentence you can stop reading now). Alright, so seriously - Fueled is like Grand Theft Auto meets Battlfield 2 on the Source engine. It's really quite that simple. The look and feel is a semi post apocalyptic setting. Some advanced technology, but more rusted than shiny, and more dirty than clean.

We've been at it for quite awhile, and things are progressing pretty well. However, we've hit a wall. And from the looks of it, this wall is made of a very thick and dense material. We can't be certain until we can get over it. The cause for this wall however, is lack of artists.

We have a few great programmers, but no damn content creators. I know how bass-ackwards that is considering most mods have nill for coders and all the art you can eat, but it's no fun being average is it.

Weapons, dynamic vehicle damage, detachable limb system (the first for any HL2 mod that we know of) -- It's all there but we don't have any models to implement it with.

Which is where you come in. That is assuming that 'you' have an artistic talent and would like nothing more than to spend your free time making a mod about speed, mayhem and destruction. But of course you do. Right?

Modelers, Riggers, Texture Artists, Mappers, et al. We need it all. Except coding. Unless you know how to code. And you like to code. And you want to code for free. In that case, we've got work for you.

*EDIT* After proof-reading this post I need to address something. It's not that I'm trying really hard to be funny (and failing miserably), it's that it is 2am here and I've been working (not on the mod) for the past 18 hours looking at nothing but code and artwork. You know what that does to a persons mind?
 
I've been pleasuring myself with your current release all my lonesome self for a few hours, and I have to say, you guys (so far) have really captured the GTA atmosphere and mood.

EDIT: Oh, and you can't believe my surprise when I set off a BFG on my car (trying to get it unstucked) and the thing blew into a million pieces. WOOT!
 
Lol, thanks sknoman (I think). The current damage model is only half of what will actually be in place. The other part of the damage model is fully dynamic damage. As in, ever car part has bones (like the mattress in HL2).

But, again, we have no modelers to make it happen :( oh woe is me... woe is me...
 
:( I wish I had time to do some level design work for you, this mod gets mine (and Angry Lawyer's) stamp of approval (I can speak for Angry on this one since I know he'd appreciate your coding work).
 
Thanks. For what it's worth, halflife2.net is by far the best hl2 commuity from what I can tell.

Are you Sammo, or one of the new mappers?

EDIT: Hmm, maybe browsing the moddeling forums for some good WIP shots, and then emailing the creators could net you a few moddelers :E
 
No, I'm Greg-J. I'll take your advice though and see what I can find.
 
We only get mappers and modellers... no coders.. only me now.. duh..

I played this mod on LAN with my brother, and I must I enjoyed killing him all the time by using the nice sticky RPG balls. And when I looked up and saw Homer simpson I laughed myself of the chair... creative works I must say! The engine's could have been done better (I'm a motorsport guy so I know all about engine's that is worth to know) but though, you have no modellers. The third person code could have been done better, but of course! this is only a beta!

The city map should have been done better before a release, but you have too test it on something. :)
