removing an interface in linux firewall?

i know this is probably really easy, but my google searches don't turn up anything. in my linux firewall, when i was testing VPN, it made about 15 ipsec interfaces(ipsec0, ipsec1), but now VPN is disabled, and i know they are not in use. whats the syntax for deleting an interface? thanks
