Removing the HUD

I know this is a noob question & it has probably been posted (to lazy to search thru hundreds of posts) but what is the command to remove the HUD is cs-s?

I've tired to use cl_drawhud 0 but I get the message "can not attept unless server has cheats enabled"

Im wanting to take some clean screen shots without all the text messages from other players.

Surely there's a way to remove the hud without needing sv_cheats set to 1. There are tons of other games that let you disable the hud in multiplayer mode. I've been looking for a way to do this myself, to disable everything except the crosshair.
