Ripping models from PS1 games?

Anyone know how I could rip models and textures from PS1 games? I've been playing with the thought of making a Silent Hill: Source in the summer and would like to use the models as a reference.
 
If the format isn't known or there's no decompiler/converter out there, you'll have to investigate the format and make a decompiler/converter yourself.
For textures, there's some program that scans files for valid image formats but I can't remember the name of it.

As long as I can load it into milkshape then its fine.
 
Try searching the file extension and see if anyone has made a converter or decompiler.
If not, you're probably stuck.
