Salt water : the next drug addiction for cold sufferers?

So, ive got a Uganda uni trip coming up on sunday for 3 weeks. So ill basically be sat ON the Equator, in the awesome dry heat, not great for me at the mo...

Why? Because ive got a ***king blocked nose and im FINALLY almost recovered from the cold symptoms (aches, sinuses, head feeling compressed etc) ive had for the past few days (I dont get colds for long), but this blocked nose is doing my ***king head in, and I want to get rid of it so it doesnt ruin this trip for me.
Blocked noses and colds get me SERIOUSLY pissed off with anything that happens. I get all wired up and snap at everything/everyone, no matter what it is. Someone could say something sarcastic and id have a go at them straight away. So i dont want to spoil this awesome trip for myself and everyone going.

Anyway im drifting, so, I read up a home remedy : sniff salty water.

Yep, sniffing salt water...I dont know HOW this is working but it somehow relieving it (just) for about 10 mins at a time. What...the...

Naturally its all spilling down me so I smell like a salt factory as for some reason im doing it from a bottle

Anyone else know of some weird home remedies for curing blocked/stuffy/runny noses? I really want to get rid of it now, im running out of time cap'n!

Yeah, that's actually a fairly common cure. It all dissolves in the saltwater.

Try pouring warm salt water down one nostril and letting it flow out the other.

I kid you not, this stuff is excellent. It's what you need, it's slightly strange feeling but not at all bad and it flushes all that sh*t right out. Get it, I'm serious. It's great.
