Saved Games

Hello all

I have just joined due to the fact that my computer HD crashed and I lost all my saved games! I do not have the patience to do it all again!

Does anyone have a saved game I think from chapter 10, it is after the buggy when in the prison kind of area. I have already freed the Dr. I was stuck at the point when you can set up 3 machine guns just out of the cells and then about 11-15 guards coming rushing in. The trick I was told was to set up the machine guns and then setup a few boxes to jump to a small balcony above the cell block

No problem many people have had similar issues with saved games.

To unlock all chapters type in the console sv_unlockedchapters 15 and all chapters can be selected. (if you havent got a console, go to option, keyboard, advanced then tick enable developers console) Press ' to bring it down (the key underneath ESC)

Once you have got back onto your nova prospekt level, type d2_prison in the console, then look on the list of different maps on that level, everytime the game stops and 'loading' comes up a new one of them loads up. So find the right map you are on (unfortunately by trial and error) till you find the bit near to the turrent section. Good luck and enjoy.

Oh and stacking stuff up to get on top of the cell is the best way to do it.

edit: one last thing, i'm not entirely sure, but if the game considers unlocking all the chapters a cheat you will need to activate the cheat mode by typing sv_cheats 1 in the console prior to any of the other commands above.

Hello Hectic Glenn.

Thanks for the info, very clear it is, however there may be a slight problem! I know about this enable console window but I have had problems with this in the past: with Doom3

You see I live in Switzerland and I have a IR Logitech keyboard, I also have the europeen version of Half-Life 2. So when I type the ' for the console I get a backslash!

Nevertheless you data has given me hope. Thanks again!

You can bind any key to the console. Open up notepad, put one line in it that says
bind "F12" "toggleconsole" (or any other key that you want, I just used F12 as an example) and save this file as autoexec.cfg in the steam/steamapps/username/half-life 2/hl2/cfg/ folder.
