I have a geforce 6800, athlon 2800+, 1024 MB DDR 333 machine.

I just installed SF, set performance to high, and launched a game.
It's unplayable. The frame rate is piss poor. I'll see an enemy and agonizingly move my crosshair after him, by the time I've got the crosshair on him I'm dead.
It really sucks.

I have no clue what the problem is, so any info would be appreciated.
No problems like this in any other games, either.

SF is very system demanding, even more so than regular BF2 some have found.
Basically you have your settings too high- turn them down. Some of the SF mas, esp indoor, multi level ones, just perform badly, and there'snot much you can do about it, but for others, turn settings down.
I have a 6800gt, faster processor than you, and same RAM, and i have half of my settings on medium.

That makes little Miccy cry.

Why so demanding? :-\

Anyway I'll try it out.

I have an X800 XT, Athlon 64 3400+, and a gig of ram. I have resolution set to 1600x1200, all settings on full, BUT no VSync/AA. AA is a killer.

Oh and watch out for Iron Gator. As cool as that map is, it lags like something very laggy.

Are you a poet or something? Seriously, that post was a work of freaking art :D

Yeah the battlefield 2 engine was just not made for multi level indoor action like Iron Gator and the palace on Warlord. Mine rines fine and dandy except for these two places.
You can tell it wasnt made for it because you can hear shit going on above and below crystal clear as if itwas happening right next to you- my guess is that its loading all the levels at once = lagginnity

You ain't kidding. As soon as I got inside that carrier, my computer started praying. Freaky experience that.
So I set my res to 1024x768 and turned all settings to medium.

Hardly any benefit. :(

Even though the game runs worse, I enjoy it more than BF2 (at least at the moment).

Oh my! I realized I had forgotten to reinstall nForce chipset drivers, now I'm running the game with EVERYTHING maxed, 1280x960, 8x AF! (No AA)

Man, a new unlockable for regular BF2 should be the grapple.
SF spoiled me with that thing, If I see a roof top that looks like a nice camp spot... I'm so tempted to throw something up there and climb. >.<

You know, it really doesn't run much worse than Vanilla BF2 for me. I have the same settings for both, and I get very solid performance. I don't know what it is- maybe I'm just lucky...
