so i can't get DoD:Source to load

So i went to my dod file and double clicked the hl2 icon...well it said some nonesense about no gameinfo.txt file being in the hl2 folder. so i copied the dod gameinfo.txt file from the dod folder to the hl2 folder THEN double clicked the hl2 icon and got this

yeah...that didn't work. basically what it's doing is I go to load it and it plays the Valve video except at 2x speed or something then just closes when the video ends. no menu...nothing. after googling this a lot of people who pirated the game have this problem....I DIDN'T PIRATE IT! that's what's messed up about it.

how are you getting the game to run by double clicking on hl2.exe?
also, the reason why your menu is buggered is because you're using the DODS gameinfo.txt for HL2 which clearly doesn't work.

i've verified files, redownloaded 3 times and nothing worked. well got it to work by putting -fullscreen in the launch options. it was opening in a window so just on a whim i tried that and TADA! works perfect now. i was just messing with stuff when trying to open by double clicking the hl2.exe in the dod folder.

My friend has a similar problem with TF2...

I have no solution, but it is obviously something to do with the 07 Engine...
