The local retailer is selling the Onspeed software (www.onspeed.com)

However I can't take their word for granted, so has anybody here using the software? If so do you see a notacible difference?

Ill check it out but they probably are like any other dial-up accelerator, they just save sites you visit in a directory so when you go back then just pull them up again.

Nm this is how it works:
You request link, onspeed intercepts it and compresses it, goes to you then.

It probably wont help with gaming(Though since it may take longer to get to you it might infact raise the ping) but, yeah you should notice a diffrence.
wait nm it would do anything at all to the ping because you have to be browing with:
Microsoft Internet Explorer v5.0 or above
Netscape Navigator 6.0 and above
Phaseout 5.1 and above *
Opera 7 and above *
Avant 9.02 and above *
Firefox 0.8 and above *
Mozilla 1.6 and above *
MYIE2 0.9 and above *

also:
For All Users: HTTPS, accelerated downloads and uploads such as MP3, exe's or streaming media content (over FTP or file sharing programs) cannot currently be accelerated by ONSPEED. We wil add this functionality in the near future.
