So the Heavy voice actor is the only person still working with Valve?

He is the only class I'm aware of that has had more voice added to the game since the game was released. E.g. the sandvich comments and shouting about the cart. Some other misc. sounds have been added for after he kills someone, but I can't make out what it says. When the Sniper video was released they had a different voice actor play the part.

I also want more cheers and voice taunts, but it doesn't appear they will add any :(

Whilst I'm on the subject of the voices, doesn't anyone else find the voice commands a bit limited? I know most people use a mic anyway, but I don't and sometimes I wanna say stuff like... Sniper ahead... Follow me... Cover me... Ubercharge incoming... Behind you!... Area clear... and just other stuff that I remember using in games like Enemy Territory.

How do you know they used a different voice actor for the meet the sniper video?

Also they added automatic voice things when characters stand on the point not too long ago. At least I never heard them until about the pyro update.

The voice in the Meet the Sniper video was completely different to the one in game. I am pretty sure of that.

If you're talking about the sounds I think you are, then that's just the same sounds that come with the game when you would say "Help" whilst standing on a point. Except now if you do something like fire when on the point, the same sounds are automatically played.

I'm thinking of when they say "get your ass on the point".

No, they're new voice clips. Also, 'work for Valve'? What makes you think that? Either they'd be existing Valve employees with some voice skills or, more likely, freelance voice actors.

Yeah, it'd be mighty economically unfeasable for VALVe to keep them on the payroll just so they can record a new line of dialouge every two months. And actually, the guy who does the Sniper's voice also did some voices for Half-life 2, apparentely. So it's kinda unlikely they switched him, particularly as the sniper sounds just like he always has. :P

The voice actors are only hired.

I'm aware that the guy who plays the Heavy and Demoman is still willing to work, Soldier guy is still willing and the Scout guy as far as I know...

*checks to report back later*
EDIT: Ok, here are the names of the people who do the voices...

Nathan Vetterlein - Scout, still does voices (Meet the Scout and Meet the Sandvich)
Rick May - Soldier, still does voices (Meet the Sandvich)
Dennis Bateman - Pyro/Spy, maybe still works for them...
Gary Schwartz - Demoman/Heavy, still does voices
Grant Goodeve - Engineer, maybe still works for them...
Robin Atkin Downes - Medic, maybe still works for them...
John Patrick Lowrie - Sniper, doesnt do anymore voices

Conclusion, alot of the classes still have voice actors, only the sniper is for certain...
Gary Schwartz just obvious finds it alot more fun and decides to do it more often than others

No reference or source that confirms your fact, nice bullshit nicky.

Someone point me out where it says the sniper voice actor left please.

They arnt valve employees you know, they are paid for recording sessions, if you had the money you could hire them yourself, I expect the reason the heavy has had alot of extra stuff lately is because he is more accessible, pehaps a friend of an employee.

As for the Sniper, I personaly believe he sounds different ingame because he is either screaming or mumbling, or it could be because he was in High School musical, and is now afraid to leave his house.

And the final word should go to the man himself!

Those are the same voice clips. I know because I would always say "Help" when standing on all the time and they are the same clips as when it was later added to be played automatically when you heal/attack someone whilst being on a point.

I hate why you always try to target my posts, I never said he DEFINATLEY doesnt work at Valve, it just doesnt seem likely because of Meet the Sniper, obviously, he might have had other plans or something. Doesnt mean you have to call it bullshit just because I tried to figure out who might/might not be available for hire by Valve anymore...

You need to prove what you're saying, it is common sense.

Almost sounds like you're making up info just to get attention.

I found out who voices who and then checked newer videos such as Meet the Sniper/Scout/Sandvich and looked for who voiced in them. Scout, Heavy and Soldier are exactly the same style of voice during Meet the Sandvich. Sniper has a different voice during Meet the Sniper. And as for the rest I didnt make a judgement on them.

Just because the voice on MTS was different doesn't neccesarily mean that it's a different voice actor.

The Announcer got new clips for when Payload came out, don't forget.

I prefer the Meet the Sniper Sniper to the in-game one anyway.

Voice in Meet the Sniper (whether its a different guy or not) is better than the original.

And yeh, Ellen McLane still does jobs for Valve, that was kind of obvious though...

Yeah, Ellen McLain did HL2, ep1, ep2, TF2, and Portal. I think it's pretty clear she likes working with Valve.
