Because I am going to go back to playing Natural Selection until HL2 comes out and if I can't play it on Won.net then I can't play it on Steam then I can't play it at all.
You can play third party mods in steam. I've been playing Natural Selection for the last few days. There aren't as many NS servers running with the new ID system, but number is increasing quickly. I used the steam/cs1.6 installer and it transfered all my third party mods (natural selection, the specialists, frontline force) with no trouble at all. And if steam doesn't do it for you its not hard to do it manually (there's a post on how to in the steam forum on this site).
