So where WAS Gordon between HL1 and HL2?

Remember what happened after you and Alyx teleport out of Nova Prospekt? How Kliener was like WTF that happened a week ago. He then said he needed to "look into it".

I take these events as highlighted by the creators to give an answer to how Gordon magically got into the future without aging or anything.

Actually, I think at the end of HL1 I remember g-man giving Gordon a shot and him falling asleep. I think he was hibernating for 10 years and was awakened by g-man when he was needed, which was in HL2 - to take out the citadel and combine forces, liberating the citizens of city-17.

Well the G-man did say that Gordon was "resting" so maybe Gordon was in some sort of hibernation state and was stored away in a physical location much like Shepherd from Opposing Force.

Thats my theory anyway.

why sleep when you can teleport to the future

He did teleport to the future, its just the instant he was in when time passed for everyone else has to be called something, and what is more adequate then "sleep"?

It's like Kliener says after you return to the lab to join the insurgents and a week has passed: Gordon gets 'slow teleported' towards the future, except it was fifteen or so years slow, and not just a week.
I smell the G-Man in there somewhere...

It's also why the G-Man says he does not want to accuse you of sleeping, because you havent been sleeping, exactly.

Its quite apparent *i feel* that he was given a shot to go to sleep and then teleported onto the train in hl2. If you talk to one of the guys in the train, he says he doesnt remember you getting on. Further more, when you meet the scientist after barney saves you, he states that you havent aged a day since he last saw you.

Listen to what Kliener says to Gordon about how long hes been away, when Gordon returns to find that the fight against the Combine has already been going on for a week. It's the key (a partial one) to the mystery of where Gordon has been since HL1.

I don't understand why people assume that Gordon was in "slow teleport" between HL and HL2, it just doesn't make any sense logic-wise. More logical is that he was just hibernating in that mostly empty black space.

Oh and who said that Gordon and Alyx actually slowly teleported? The teleport they were in literally blew up when combine attacked it (it's mentioned right after arriving to Kleiner's lab) so there's no logic there either that they are even alive. Maybe The Man With The Briefcase had something to do with this?
