software recomendation

hi im going on a trip to hong kong, india and bankok on monday on a sort of assignment. im aware that i can get software out there really cheap and i was wondering if anyone can recommend any software that would be expensive in the uk. im mainly refering to modeling and texturing type software. im going to try and pick up xsi professional if im lucky and mayb e cinema 4d and bodypaint.

you could see if you can pick up the latest version of photoshop, thats allways a good one to have, not sure if you would use that in your modeling and texturing though.

as you can see im an xsi person not a 3dsmax person but i might buy it anyway just for the sake of it.

yeah im going to get the latest photoshop as i have a very old one. version 5 or something.

i was just wondering if anyone knows of any tools and stuff i could look for that i dont know of.
