Here are some other pics from LC that I recently took. I tried to remember my motivation, which was to do stupid and nonsensical things and capture them for others' viewing pleasure. I especially like the falling ballet done by the soldiers. I also like pic 132 where the soldier bows to my superior . . ., uhhh, ... ness. Yea. Or it may have had something to do with shooting him in the face with a shotgun while impervious to damage. Not sure. In pic 129 I was rapping and the soldier was doing the thug dance. That or it was the violence again. The other pics are of cool effects. I have been to Saint Sophia in Istanbul (church that Constantine the Great, Christian Emperor of Rome c.274-337 built) and the monastary in LC is strinkingly similar to that real place at high resolutions and at the right angle. Doesn't look like those are the highest, looks like some are medium textured as well, like the sides of the boats, and the gun is lacking in some AA, 2x should fix that puppy up, and 4x will clear up background jagginess

What do you mean get to the village? Are you implying that you want to get to the village in the far north of the map on LC? If so, what the hell? You can't do that.

You can get to the village in a couple of ways (using boats or going along the shore), but the map was not designed for you to get there.

Using boats with the Gravity Gun? I thought you could just noclip over there.
Never did though, unless it was part of the player's path.

It's just there for looks.

Pics and settings

These shots were taken at the hightest settings that HL2 allows at 1900x1200 resolution. The shots do not do the original content justice but look ok. They are under a meg and I suppose that they would be larger of the program truly captured the images on screen. You can get to the village by piling up boxes at the corner of the ruins at the top of the hill before you go into the "city" center. It took me a while as I tried the boat thing a couple of times and it seemed more difficult but it seems is easiest. The thing is without no clip you can't explore the town if you use the boat as you can't jump back up the cliff face. Jumping down requires a box if you want to keep some health. You can grab one or a few once you are on the walls of the ruins. It is fun to do it this way.
