sound card help

i have a emachines t5010 that i had restored (wiped it out and reinstalled xp) i had wiped it out to give it to my little brother so he could download and listen to his music and check his myspace, whatever he does. I reinstalled xp and we're having trouble getting sound i didnt do anything to the speakers or anything like that it says there is no audio device in the control panel im not sure how to get the computer to find the sound card?:angry:

you need to download and install the sound card drivers.

i dl and installed, still not workking the sound worked perfect before i restored the computer, im not sure how i install the sound card or how i get the computer to recognize it or whatever.
