Sound is f'd up

So yesterday i open Mass Effect and everything sounds normal untill i ask someone something.The speech is very low volume when the other sounds are just normal..I go like screw it its bugged.Then i open winamp and try to listen to some music.Same thing there.I can here the music while the singers voice (with some other sound FX ) are sort of muffeld.They can be heard but only when i turn the volume up very high.I tried everything ,volume controls and stuff but it is still the same.Please help!

I've had this happen with crappy audio jacks/loose connections. I assume you've already tried wiggling the audio jack around?

If that doesn't do anything then I don't know, but I'm pretty sure it's not software related.

just fixed it ... dunno what happened but i did system restore.. its fine now with the exeption of mass effect being uninstalled :| :| :| :| :| :| :| :| :|

I guess it was a software problem then...

Did you try reinstalling audio drivers before doing a system restore?

yeah but my internet was bull because i share it with my parents computer and my dad was downloading something and i didnt have the patience so i did it instantly
