Source games not starting

Hi all,
I have got a problem where none of my games will start now steam says its loading the game then nothing i can't even end them in task manager. I have tried verifying my game files i have unistalled and tried to reinstall but it still doesn' work. Please help i don't know what to do now.

I got that problem after installing new drivers. But I guess you already tried other drivers.

My drivers are already up to date and everything was working fine untill now

What are your system specifications?

Operating system: Windows XP Service pack 2
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 3.2 GHZ
RAM: 1 Gig
Hard Drive: 320 gig 240 gig left
Graphics Card ATI Radeon X740xl 128mb

I think my specs are ok because i was able to play the lost coast with HDR before.
Also the Source SDK won't start.

I got same problem too, i dunno what its gotta do with system specs tho cause mine was working a month ago, tried old and new drivers cause thats the only thing ive changed and it still won't load. And my specs have played this game fine before i wonder whats the cause of this?

i have the same problem.. i have played Hl2.. and now NONE of my steam games work.. all my drivers are up to date :S

I think ive found a fix for this, i dunno what fixed it but mine fixed now. I did two things one was delete the gcf files and hl2 and cs folders and let steam redownload them. Second i redownloaded direct x 9.0c now its loading hopfully itll stay like that! hope this helps

yeah that didn't work for me but i got mine working by starting steam in offline mode whenever i am connected to the internet it stops working.
