*spoilers ahead*

I completed the quest for the Orc (Ogre?) that's the Grand Champion of the Arena. Now when I challange him and we meet in the Arena, he doesn't attack me and tells me to kill him and end his misery (the quest I did for him revealed he is half-vampire). He only stands there, there are no dialog options, the only thing I can do is kill him. When I do this, I get the message announcing that the Dark Brotherhood will contact me (this happens when you murder someone). In my stats I have 1 murder now. This probably happened because I attacked and killed someone that did not attack me first.

I wanted to make a good character. The murder would only be a flaw in my stats that wouldn't bother me much, but one of the guards I talked to a few minutes later told be that he saw my filthy murder and will have an eye on me. The rest of the conversation was normal. I'd rather not have any penalties for that later on.

Has this happened to you, or am I unlucky to get this bug? Of course I'm asking those who completed the Ogre's quest before fighting him.

I'm thinking of loading a previous save though, maybe wait for Bethesda to fix it and then get the title.

I don't want to be a murderer :P

That's not a bug

How come? I mean the fact he wants you to kill him is not a bug, but the fact that you are treated as a murderer afterwards is. I kill him "legally" in an Arena fight, that shouldn't be considered murder. Killing others in the Arena wasn't.

I used to play games like you do - it's so much cooler when you lighten up and JOIN THE DARK SIDE!!!

you must have done the quest where *SPOILERS* for him where the journal tells him that hes half-vampire and dont want to live anymore.

Genius, genius I say! :D

I said that in the first post. :)

Yeah, its no bug. Makes it a whole lot easier a fight too! You are really doing him a favor too, so its a mercy-killing sort of.

That's funny though--I never noticed being called a murderer by anyone, but sure enough, murder count went to 2. (I was contacted by the Dark Brotherhood after I did my own separate and personal murder of my choice. ;) )

I haven't noticed any ill effects from it and I can still do all the Mages Guild quests and Fighters Guild quests with no problem, so it can't be that bad.

It won't ruin any quests if that's what you're wondering about - unless you murder a person who is key to a quest.

The BUG he's talking about is how it considers the Grey Prince kill a murder when it is completely legal in the arena.

I have a feeling that they didn't change any of the law-breaking code for the arena. Since every other enemy in the arena comes out swinging, when you kill them it is considered self-defense by the game and you don't get called on murder.

Since (from what I hear) the Grey Prince doesn't even fight you, the game probably considers him a defenseless citizen that you're killing.

I fought and killed him before he went all emo so I actually had a good battle and didn't have this problem :P
