Anyone else notice those lumbering tank like things in the citadel ride? The ones that had four legs, marching around like massive animals?

They looked sexy-awesome...too bad we couldn't fight them.

the strategy guide has the creature in question pictured with one that looks like a semi-organic stealth bomber...

one is the "Crab-Synth" and the other is the "Mortar-Synth",but it doesn't specify which is which..

I think the one you are talking about is the crab and the other one is the mortar..both can be seen in the same area of the citadel

but like the advisor and stalker(s) "these are not seen in the combat area so are not a threat"

until HL3!!! ;)

why dont u bloody post this in spoilers forum... thats what its theres for

Mortar Synth was once in a game, and game files contain references to its weapons. Just like the Combine APC was once driveable, apparently.

They looked like enslaved Xen creatures. They should have had a chapter that involved driving the Strider! That would have been so cool!

The Strider is a living thinking being, how do you drive that?

You wouldn't be able to drive the Strider, it's a Synth. That is to say, a biomechanical creature with no pilot.

I drive my fiancé every now and then. Why wouldn't it be possible to drive a strider then?

There's nothing you can actually grab with your hands in a strider, it's just a lump of biomechanical stuff with long, pointy legs and one effective phallic symbol.

As Ive said before, in the leak if you noclip near a stiders head you automatically get sucked into a sitting position in its head - almost as if they planned a stider ride. Also the top of the head isnt textured.

Yeah, but that's probably from when Valve were messing about with piloting Striders for their own fun.

How cool would it be controlling a stider :O

Thinking about riding on top of a Strider while shooting into its head...
Now THAT would be awesome.
