Steam Protocol

Every time i try to click a steam link (steam://) firefox gives me a message says it cant handle the steam protocol, i have this problem with IE but it gives me the cannot find page.
I tried Steam support, they told me to reinstall Steam but i still have the same problem and every time i contact them they give me the same answer. So i thought you guys could help me..

Oh and i can't purchase anything from Steam, ever time i click the purchase button on a game page nothing happens...so what do you think ? Registry problem ? and what should i do ?

So you get this problem in Steam itself?
Seeing as it works in IE you could try setting IE to your default internet browser?

Can you give a steam:// link to test?
There was some steam client update recently. I wonder if that changed something for the worse on your machine.

Also for reference, back in 2006 they fixed an issue with steam:// links and those that had used a registry restore tool.
Your issue could be registry related. I'm not saying that you used a restore tool but that steam:// links and the registry are connected.

and see if there's anything to do with steam in there

ok so i was looking around in the registry files
i found that i cant access the steam registry file, everytime i click on it it says access denied and i dont have permission..wtf ?

There is only 1 user in this comp and it got admin access..
