Strange pixel flickering

If I run AA at 4x or 6x (which should be the smoothest) the edges of objects flicker at a distance and still looks blocky as if AA isn't taking effect but it is fine in 2x?

I will get a SS later because it is hard to explain. I'm hoping somebody knows why or how to correct this?

I think this sometimes happens in low resolutions like 640X480 and 800X600. Have you tried a bigger resolution?
 
I'm using 1024, any higher and my screen pops because of the refresh rate. Will see what I can do, thanks.

EDIT:

I tried the resoloutions above, think it was 1180 or something and 1280. They both have the same problem where objects at a distance are pixelated like there is no AA on.

Could you post some screenshots? Because AA will never get rid of ALL the jaggedness :p
