Stuck at the Very End

Im at the last part where there are two ships shooting at you around the top of the citadel and Breen is about to take off. I know I need to shoot off the iron plates rotating around him, but what else? Do I need to shoot down both ships as well?

Take out both ships first (2 dark enegery balls per ship will do it), then as Breen is at the top of the portal area, knock off every spinning metalic plate.

when u break the plates, carry on shooting inside it, that will eventually blow it up and finish

You don't NEED to kill the ships first. just aim for the shields in the middle. You should have enough armour/ health to see you through the ships attack.

Yeah, the ships are disabled and plummet when the portal explodes
