I'm currently stuck in HighWay 17. I'm at the part where you are controlling some kind of magnet. Also the gate or drawbridge is up, stopping me from progressing. What am I supposed to do with the magnet? Also what are those towers that you press and the light turns red? I've pressed all of them up to now. What do they do?

Hit the bridge thing with the magnet so that it falls down into place, allowing you to cross. Use the crane to lift your car up on to the docks too.

You mean the thumpers? The things that scare the antlions? You're betting off leaving those on :p

Ok, after that, should I cross the bridge with the car? Or on foot?

You should take your buggy unless you feel like doing a lot of walking. :)

Ok, now I'm at this big blue Combine barrier. I can go through the little gap on foot, but the buggy is too big to fit. I can't find a switch or anything, just a whole lot of Combine. Which I killed.

And the power source is conveniently located on a slope that leads off a cliff.

Is it the APC? Shoot it with the Gravity Gun and off the cliff and it will unplug, allowing you to pass.

Don't bother taking the buggy, the Coast road is quicker to complete by foot.

If you're a pro done-qick-dude who have every kind of scripts and stuff to bunnyhopp and so, yes w/o buggy is faster. But since it's your first time trough, play the game the way it's meant to be played, it's more fun.

Haha, I turned those off the first time I played HL2. I figured there wouldn't be a button there if you weren' supposed to press it.

or you just can pick up the litle bricks that keep the apc quiet

no I'm simply amazed by the fact that some people really don't use their brain when they're playing a video game ... or maybe they don't have one?

Or maybe you should use your brain and do something else with your time besides yell at someone over an internet forum? Not everyone see's things the same way. Some things that are obvious to you, may be tricky to others. Not everyone is perfect, not even you. I know, hard to believe, isn't it?

That's just pointless flaming. So what if he doesn't notice something that he should? Like you've never been stuck in a game before. That doesn't make you stupid.

noob

Well, I saw that a cable was attached to the car, but I said "How could the car be powering th gate", so I looked for a switch. Didn't find one. Then, I tried zapping the car, but it didn't budge. Forgot all about the secondary fire. Hehe.

/me needs sleep...and brains apparently.
