Stuck in Nova Prison - Near Kitchen

I'm stuck in the prison and can't escape. I've past the kitchen that is on fire and there is a closed gate that looks like it leads outside.

I can also hear turret fire but cannot figure out how to get to it. I found a room near the "Generator Room" that has ducts that lead up to the room with the turret fire, but I cannot get through them

Please help.

basically you need to head for the area you're looking at in your 2nd pic. should be 2 guards up in a room to your right. then find your way to where you're looking at in that pic.

Head up those stairs in Nova 1, turn right, go up into the control room (or at least it resembles a control room)... and take a good look at the glass.
