stuck in prison help!

I'm stuck at the part where gordon has to set up 3 tripod guns and stop incoming combine soldiers. I keep getting slaughtered here. I've tried every possible placement of guns yet they still breakthrough, I even barricaded some doorways with crates and they still manage to kill me. What am I doing wrong!!!!

Take 2 turrents with you into a cell set em up, hide begind them with the gravity gun, and when combine throw nades at you, toss them back, took me 1 try this way.

Or, you can just take the turrets, turn them around in the slot they are stored in and face them out and then you get in the middle empty slot. The soldiers have to enter the room to get to you or the guns.

The absolute easiest way to do this is to take all 3 turrets, turn them around and put them back into their lockers. Then hide in the empty locker. I've tried this on both Normal and Difficult and both times the Combine went down without me taking any damage. Just keep the shotty handy incase a Combine gets far in enough to see you. They can't knock the turrets over, and they don't throw nades because by the time they see you they're already being shot at by the turrets.
I've also heard of people stacking a couple of boxes up, and throwing all 3 turrets up to the second level, then going up there and sniping all the Combine below. That sounds like more fun, but the previous way will save you the most ammo and health.

I just pulled out my .357 and shot them...2 turrets in the right hall 1 in the left. Tossed the nades away and shotgunned the combine who got too close. Got it on my first try, on medium and without cheats...and yes I am bragging.

I actually had four turrets at that time, since I carried one other with me. Then I just placed them to guard all entrance points and picked them up quikly if combine ever knocked them down.

Heh.... I stacked all of the boxes to get to the second level, and there is a room with unbreakable glass. I built a little barricade, and secured one sentry gun in between a few of the objects. Only a few soliders came my way. I feel so cheap!
