I am in that base feeding antlers...that arachnid sand monsters....what ever they are called.

i throw that bugbait on dead soldier and they attack him and then light comes up and reveal that wooden/log baricade...but i canot jump over it and there is no other passage in that area.....help me please.....

Well, you could try obeying the Vortigaunts instructions and right-clicking to bring the 'Antlers' (Ant-Lions actually) towards you so that the Vort opens the gate.
