stuck on follow freeman

Hi all,

I know it is totally obvious and staring me in the face but I am totally stuck with Barny and getting blasted with a hugh blue lazer being fired from the building
A force field is baring my way into the grounds.
There is a car I can move around with my gravity gun and an open container I can hide in but always get blasted.
please help,how got I get over the fence or through the gate?

Right behind that open container, turn left and run past the debris. There's a door you can open further on.
