Hi Guys,

I've been trying to work a way out to no avail for sometime. Here are some printscreens:

That isn't from HL2/Ep1. How are we supposed to help you when we don't even know where you are?

Are you serious? That's inside the Overwatch Nexus...

Shaolin, you have to make your way to the next generator. Just explore everywhere and you'll find where you need to go. The Nexus can be a bit confusing the first time through.

It is Half Life 2. Its in the building which has four reactors or something, and this huge gun type device which can shoot a really far distance. This particular room had lasers everywhere and machine guns on the roof. I accidiently set the lasers off and ended up having to shoot the machine guns down.

Keane Im locked in the room. Seems to be no way out.

That's weird... I guess the doors close when you set off the lasers. I never knew they did that. You tried using "E" on the doors, right?

Looks like you'll have to reload your last save and try to get through the room without setting off the lasers.

When you are trapped in the room and all the turrets are on you, you are a dead man. Try reloading instead.

Yeh. I managed to take all of them out.

Keane - E dont work. They have metal barriers block the way. I reloaded And I am right infront of the exit door. But it has two lasers and I dont know how to get through them.

You have to climb on top of the stuff in the room.

Try looking at the walkthrough if you get stuck again

Crouch jump on the pipe, crouch jump to the platform thing, jump two more times, and sprint jump to the last platform.

Turret can't be defeated. I have once poured all my bullets a one turret, it was still moving after then. They are invulnerable.

Are you talking about the turrets that come out of the ground? Those can be defeated with nades.

Thanks Guys. I managed to get through that level.

I did take out all the turrets. Check the first three images. They are taken out. Took all my bullets and alot of blood but I did ot. .:sniper:

Wow. My mind totally blanked on that one, my bad.

O rly?

An experiment on the durability of the ceiling turrets was just carried out a few minutes ago. First of all, there are, in total, 6 turrets in the laser-guarded room. I attack them one by one with different kinds of weapons. Each turret is subjected into the constant attack of each type of weapon. When all the turrets are destroyed, the game will be reloaded and the experiment will continue. In hopes of minimizing the errors, the player and the turrets were in close proximity so the chance of missing bullets is greatly reduced. The result is shown:

Weapon type
hits needed to take down one turret

  1. Shotgun
    32 shells (all pellets hit)
  2. Pulse rifle
    170 rounds
  3. .357 magnum
    33 rounds
  4. SMG
    330 rounds
  5. SMG nade
    12 rounds
  6. Crossbow
    14 rounds
  7. RPG
    7 rounds
  8. HE grenade
    11 rounds
  9. Pistol
    270 rounds
  10. crowbar
    142 hits

However, a player can carry only 168 pistol rounds, 18 magnum rounds, 90 pulse rifle rounds, 170 SMG rounds, 3 SMG grenades, 36 shotgun rounds, 11 crossbow rounds, 3 RPGs and 5 grenades. Unfortunately, enegy ball and gravity gun cannot hurt the turrets. The ammo you have to use is always more than the ammo you have. You can use the crowbar, if you don't fear of the turret shots. In short, you cheated.

Wow. That is some awesome experimentation. However, you listed ten weapons with insufficient ammo, while there are six turrets. Were these to be combined so that no excess damage would be wasted (i.e. not using a 30-damage weapon on a 5-health turret), could all six turrets be destroyed with only the ammo in that room?

Admittedly, this would be very hard to do without starting out with this aim in mind, but your table intrigues me.

I think it may be enough. Especially when two of the six turrets are lying together closely. One explosion can damage both. So theoretically, it should be possible to destroy all turret without cheating. I lied.

Zomg, you can destroy the wall-mounted turrets?
