Surprising that more animals like this haven't evolved

More mosquito type creatures that suck blood. So many mammals and warm blooded stuff to suck and so few insects to suck it.

More parasitic insects that attach to mammals, like ticks. Again, so many mammals, but only ticks (and possibly leeches) that come to mind. I know there's more..but there should be MUCH MORE!

I'm surprised no creature has evolved to take advantage hot air to fly, by filling up a balloon-sack-thing on their body to float. It doesn't have to be an animal, it could be a tree. Imagine a tree that floats in the air. ****ing imagine that shit. The ultimate photosynthesis advantage. No more scavenging in the lower echelons of massive forests for tiny morsels of light.

Most of all i'm really surprised there are almost no creatures that are totally competent in both water and land. Penguins swim well, but walk like retards. Seals swim well, but squiggle along the ground in a very clumsy fashion.

Evolution baby. It isn't "intelligent", the animal kingdom can't think to itself "wow, here's this huge ****ing niche we need to fill, let's evolve".

Once an animal finds its niche, there is no reason for it to evolve any further. If it works, it works, no reason to complicate things further and try to get things "perfect".

Trees do not work that way. They need a settled root system to absorb all the nutrients and other materials in the soil beneath them.
 
Why couldn't it evolve to suck in water vapour rising from the forest floor, it could also trap birds in its sticky web of death and use their nutrients for fuel.

I swear, on another planet or in parallel dimensions these pathways of evolution may have happened.
 
The reason more mosquito-esque insects haven't evolved is because it's far more successful to beat up your opponent and eat him instead of just dancing around sucking his blood. Notice how all mosquitoes are agile and how it's ****ing hard to kill ticks.

There are millions of said types of animals/insects whatever across the world. The Amazon among other places is full of them
 
I assume if mosquitoes were to evolve then there would be a drastic decline in the animals they prey on, due to disease and other stuff. I think theres an equilibrium with most species which prevents something like mosquitoes from becoming these super bugs.
 
Mosquitoes can't be superbugs because if they get too large they get swatted. It's not hard to get.
 
Not to mention only the female ones actually feed on blood.

And only then at spawning season.
 
Also if they drink too much blood they turn to dust in sunlight.

Try walking through a forest in Northern Canada in the summer. There is no lack of blood sucking insects, trust me. Also, there do exist trees which can walk. Floating trees I don't quite see happening.
 
Mosquitos are scary, they love me. I can't go anywhere in summer without getting bitten by little buggies. I can't wait for summer though!

but mosquitoes are very susscefull creatures

walk in my country in a humid place near water and the mosquitoes will come to you like flying piranhas

That is a really dumb idea in so many ways. How does this tree keep hot air inside of it? And do you know what the density of hot air is? It's not that much less than ambient air. Barely enough to lift an inflated garbage bag on a sunny day. A small tree might weigh a hundred pounds, a heavy one would be about 5 or 6 tons. The amount of hot air needed to lift that much weight would be enormous, at least a 50m diameter balloon, and then the weight of the hot air container (made of wood?) would be added to it. On top of this, the tree then needs to expend energy to somehow heat this air, more energy than it can obtain from sunlight for half of the day. Also, trees don't naturally produce much heat at all. It also doesn't have any nitrogen or minerals because its entire root structure has pulled out of the ground.

off the top of my head: frogs, loons, bears, humans, moose, beavers, hippos, otters, snakes, crocodiles, alligators.
 
Anyway, none of this floating tree shit. What we should have is rocket-powered beavers. Normal beavers just aren't successful anymore. They need rockets to get around.
