Sweet Mercedes video

agreed, a bit of a waste of time. I think the point is, if you die in a mercedes you have got to be a stupid ass person. European cars are like that. Too bad they are expensive and so are the parts and maintenance. But they are sooo sexy :)

I don't know, I find my STi is cheaper to have worked on than my old Ford contour was..

Impreza STi? Thats Japanese, usually Jap parts are cheaper, the cars are cheaper, and last longer than others. Being Japanese, of course its going to be less expensive than your contour. American cars are just shitty. And ugly, yeesh.

I wonder if thats a Kompressor... they are so ****ing class.

The base SL500 has a naturally aspirated V8. The performance model SL55 has a supercharged V8. The luxury GT model SL600 has a twin turbocharged V12.

Then ofcourse is the $165,000 SL65, which is too much performance to describe in mere words :E

I never thought I'd hear an American say that. (Though Pontiac and Dodge have done some passable work of late.)

Ford may have overcome some of their quality issues but very few people buy a bone fide american car over here. Laughably, Chevrolet are trying to break into the UK market with some real shit. Chrysler sort of managed to get a foothold but they seem to sell the sort of cars that Brits just don't want to buy; predominately we tend to go for economical (meaning fuel efficient, not cheap) cars rather than huge petrol guzzlers, though SUV-type vehicles are on the increase to my dismay. I think that Crossfire coupé is doing well, but the price may have more than a little to do with it when you consider how truly awful that car is compared to the European offerings from Audi and Porsche as well as the Asian ones from Nissan.

You're right about Japanese cars though: renowned for reliability. Unfortunately their sense of style is about 10 years behind Europe's. The new BMW stylings are quite appealing, in a marmite sort of way.

One thing you can be nearly guaranteed about a German car is that it will be well built; it may be a stereotype and may be inaccurate but those Germans would make a toilet seat strong enough for an elephant given half a chance. In all my travels I've never seen a BMW, Audi or Merc broken down (seen plenty of Mazdas and Nissans with the AA van nearby though). EU regulations on car safety are incredibly stringent so if you're shopping for a car think German - their reputation is well deserved. You get what you pay for with cars: don't scrimp on your life.

I have say that i dont fully agree with you for THIS reason, and THIS one too.
I'd never buy one. Of course expensive ass cars are going to be better than the regular offerings from GM and company. Look at how shitty American cars are. Cobalt? Aztek? Avalanche? Monte Carlo? These are all rolling pieces of shit, and sadly I could name a thousand more. Everytime I see one of those UGLY ass chevy futuristic truck, the SSr, I want to puke my guts out. Why cant people realize how ugly they are? Not only that, the ****ing thing costs 43 thousand. I dont really care what kind of car people drive as long as they enjoy it, but there is so much against our cars that there is no point to buying them. Trucks are a different story though, we build some damn fine trucks. I wish we made the best cars out there but we dont. They just blow :(

new mustangs are the exception, i like em.

You can certainly get a filthy mercedes for 43K, the same price as a brand new SSr. all comes down to efficiency and taste though. I'd take a 15 year old mercedes over this

Anyone of you Americans wonna trade a Mercedes for a oldschool Cadillac? ;( I want one.

Meh..Corvette is overated. Dodge viper is worse..ugghh..that car is not good.

And that is where i agree with you. I think that all of the guys that are thinking these pieces of shit up need to go on vacation and let the PEOPLE decide what the next car should be. Although chevorlet has been pulling itself out of the hole ever so slightly with the 2005 and 2006 corvettes and...i cant think of any other good chevy cars at the moment.

I happen to like the pontiac 2000-2004 firebirds they look pretty nice.
