Textures wont show in Hammer :(

I am new to mapping to HL, and I have been following some video tutorials to help me and all is good.

But when I creat or a brush or insert a character the textures dont show, its just the like bones of the brush or model that are there.

I have searched around and fiddled around with some settings and cannot get anything.

any help is really appreciated

you might have the view set to "wireframe".. goto view and select the textured view..

Yeah, i have the same problem. I just installed hammer on this computer... And all the settings are compleatly differnt then on my main computer. I cant have the Textures being shown. I have looked thru all the texture things. Only 3d wireframe shows. none of the others work. especially 3d polygon textures. i have the flat or smooth thing to work also. bahh i need some help here also.
