I tried ditching him at the begining of that area in Freeman pointfrex with all the zombies and that didn't work so I had to start over this time puntting him on the roof of that building were you get ambushed by a bunch of zombies and I'll collect him when I get there. So I would like to know so I don't have to redo anything else can I ditch him then return a get him at the area were you blow up the auto gun? And is there a good spot to put him in the car were he wont fall out? Other tip's would be nice too thx.
 
Yeah, I think you can ditch it in the garage at the guns and it will still be there. Ditto for at the car at the White Forest Inn. You'll find that with the chopper out of the way it'll be much easier going, though you'll have to loose your race with DOG because even the slightest bumps at high speed will knock the gnome out (but you probably already know that).
 
Put gnome on ground SAVE. Win with Dog. Get achv. Load drive with that bastard carefully. DONE.
 
I am having problems with the gnome. Every time I try to put him in my car, the chopper shoots him outs my hands and then I die.
 
Hands?

Put him in the back behind Gordon and Alyx.

van kayne - how could that simple solution NOT enter your head? i would guess that everyone that attempts the gnome challenge has either already done the dog race achievement, or has enough brains to just leave the gnome, win the race, then go back for the gnome. that's what you're doing half the time in the gnome achievement anyway - leaving the gnome and going back for him after completing _________ task. why would this time be any different?
 
There should be some reward system for these achievements coz seriously I can't be bothered to carry a friggin' gnome through a whole game just to fill up some bar in the main menu (unless I was reeeeaaaaaally bored). Some of the other achievemnts were pretty fun, but I love games with unlockable content, although I doubt that'll happen with Valve.

But anyhow, at least the achievements are an interesting addition to these games and even I get a very MINOR feeling of satisfaction from completing them.

maybe money off for all achievements or points which are compared in a leaderboard. Tf2 scores along with Hl2 DM and CSS scores eventually could be added to see who is greatest.

I got the achievement yesterday. When I put my little gnomey in the rocket it felt like when I had to incinerate my beloved cube. Oh cube how I miss you:;(

I tried to do the gnome achievement on hard... Big mistake.
 
The biggest OMG I HATE THIS GNOME momment for me was the hunter chopper. I resorted with getting out punting him get back in drive to were he landed and punt him again. Instead of trying to keep him in the car. But I did notice when he was on Alyx's side with Alyx sitting on him, he seemed to stay in place. He would still get knocked out but it would be harder.

Actually I did the race against dog first, and then played through with the gnome. I thought he might have too, and would want to deal with the gnome with minimal backtracking.

I've done it:P it requires one change. With helicopter. Drive 15 meters send gnome ahead.Drive to him hide behind car. Send him 15 meters ahead. Loop
 
The trick is stucking him in the back of the car, right above your seat, and drive at a medium spee, not too slow nor too fast, or it will leave the car. It's like the bus from Speed. At least that's the way I did it.

P.S: when I finished the achievement, it was like an orgasm, it was not sad, it felt great
 
Valve could atleast fix the clipping problems. Seriously, seats have sold molecules like almost everything else, no exceptions.

But sadly since this is the Internet theres no way I can prove it. Feel free to beleive me or not.


By the way stewie, you might just aswell stop posting comebacks on this thread. Remember what happened months ago about a certain graphic card conflict? :dozey:

at least youre learning, and quickly suggested to get back on topic rather than end up saying more stupid things. although this topic is pretty much done with anyway.

you were supposed to. congratulations. as for not understanding the rest - he referenced something from the past. he was wrong and confused back then, so bringing it back up only served to show what a moron he is (and was even back then). at least i got another laugh out of it.

I'm still stuck on the first part you mentioned. I got the car & open the door & Alyx & the Vort come out. Now, I can't get the gnome. I can see him through the window behind the door. I figured if he can go through the rocket door like I've read on here, he should go through those walls or the door. But he won't!

So, is punting him to the roof of that building the only way? And it won't be too far for the gravity gun to bring it up? Any help would be much appreciated.

I chose to punt him on the zombie ambush roof because that looked like the only place he wouldn't fall off and a good marker for when I get to it. Instead of running right by and forgeting my little freind.


Now unrelated to this thread. I am simply delighted that stewie has been banned. He was incredibly mean and... well just look at this thread for a good read on stewie's personality.

He was too angry, unpolite and rude about every subject.
