So, the Mossman video in the Citadel speaks of a project that could be detrimental to the resistance if discovered by the Combine. Could it be something that alters or interfers with their teleport technology? I'm sure we'll learn more in EP2, but I thought the speculation should start now. I'm betting this will be the turning point either for the resistance or the Combine, as well as the story (obviously, I guess).

The project is probaly those secret devices Kleiner said would be deployed against the Combine so Earth would be protected from future invasions. My guess is that it's located at Kraken.

The Project probably involves a way to allow Freeman to fight in the Combine Home Dimension without having to use a host body.

It could be something to prevent further invasions. Like, some sort of shielding that prevents teleportation from other dimensions?

I just find it unlikely that the resistance will be able to completely topple the combine, since the combine is a galaxy/dimension spanning empire with near endless resources, and the resistance is... a handful of people on earth. More likely, I think it'd be something to prevent further invasions. Possibly close the dimensional rifts entirely.

'Course, HL2 is a sci-fi action game, so it could easily justify simply blowing the crap out of the combine and destroying them for good... But hey.

Yeah, that is possible. Sort of a barrier.

But I think it's a hanger of some kind for the 'technological advances' the resistance has built - possibly Kraken.

Yep. Am I the only one who visualises an army of 'Dogs' covered in Gluon Guns and Tau cannons? :P

That would be crazy. I think DOG is certainly a hint at what the Resistance are actually capable of, even with second hand tech. A huge AI robot that can display loyalty?

I had the best dream ever last night. I dreamt I was in the Arctic Base which was actually on the Borealis for whatever reason. The dream involved me smacking the hell out of the Combine with Shepard's wrench, until I got to the centre of the boat which was a huge round room, think Cerebro from X-men. When I got there, standing on a platform in the centre was a Cremator with green acid bubbling through pipes attatched to his arms and Judith Mossman goes, "Dr Freeman, welcome to the Project." And somehow I knew the Resistance had transformed the minds of Stalkers or made them realise what they are, then decked them out with armour and guns. It was cool. Then the "trailer" for Episode 3 ran with lots of Cremators burning the Combine Advisor and G-man.

Here's hoping? XD

Hopefully Valve can come up with something better (and I have no doubt they will) ;)
I don’t understand why people like the Borealis so much. An underwater Kraken rebel base sounds far more interesting to me. Even though an underwater base might be to high-tech for the resistance. But we don’t know what the resistance in other parts of the world are capable of.

I love the Borealis. Fighting Zombies and soldiers on an Icebreaker ship in the middle of the ocean? Yes please.

Middle of the ocean hardly sounds like an innovative location...meh
(Samon, plz dont hurt me).

It would be even better if there was maybe some kind of giant ychtiosaur or something lurking in the deep ready to destroy the ship. It could turn out an awesome puzzle boss:D

You say that until Valve implements it, hehe. And I keep hearing Kraken being mentioned. That is the underwater base, correct? I also hope to see a return of the Borealis, what could be a more fitting ending to Ep2 then sailing off in that same ship towards the Arctic.

Yeah I know it's in the Arctic, but I thought I also heard that it is underwater as well. Maybe I imagined it, heh.

No, Kraken.

Hm :| hopefully it looks better in Episode Three, if it's going to be in Episode Three of course.

You're not the only one. That has to be the Resistance's secret project, right?

Well, Valve didn't really finish Kraken. It will obviously go through some major art passes.
