Avoiding the crowds of drunks in the city centre, doing some work for my final project.

We're not allowed to have Saint George's Day in England anymore. Apparently it's politically incorrect.

You're one in a million, you.

Well literally one in 1.8 million, in terms of the Earth's population.

Getting drunk...? Nah maybe not. I'll be wearing green clothes and be happy.

ahhh go on, getting drunk is what st. patricks day is all about

Hang on, it's buy one get one free guiness then? Of course I'll be drinking.

Okay, what the hell did St. Patrick actually do to be justified being called a Saint? Did he do anything as remotely cool as St. George (Slay a Dragon!)?

Also Saint Patrick wasn't even Irish (he was born on main land Britain)! He was kidnapped by the Irish and sold to slavery!

St. George rules.

But apparently he's politically incorrect???

He cleared the snakes out of ireland :p

I will be working...For some reason the shop im in is open even though its in the middle of nowhere...quiet day ahead then.Goin out night before Paddys Day and its my parents anniversery so goin out to Dinner.

St. Patricks day is going to be one hell of a time for myself. In my residence we have TWO birthdays of two VERY popular people in our residence going on that day that at least 200 people will be going to celebrate. That may not sound like a big deal except when you consider the fact that one birthday from any average person any other time in the year almost always results in at least 30 people from my residence going to a bar and getting completely smashed out of their minds.

Also the day before, my floor is holding a Mexican party where we will all dress up as Mexicans, and get drunk off of tequila and Corona beer.

I get the feeling there will be a few ambulances comming to take some people away for alcohal poisoning. :(

Woo!

"How come St. George got beatified for killing the rarest creature ever with a massive sword, while I get absolutely ****ed by the RSPCA for slaying common frogs with a penknife? As usual, it's one law for knights in armour and another for the rest of us. "

I'm annoyed because my best friend is working on Thursday. He works in a bar...

Hehe, the Viz is great. See my sig.

I heard there's a Saint Patrick's Day party in the white house.
What's going to happen there? GWB is going to dress up as a leprechaun while simultaneously downing copious amounts of Guinness?

It'd be cool if that's what was happening.

I get the feeling he won't drink anything but Budweiser if he has the choice.

Thinking of what we all do when we drunk, I'd hate to think what could happen in the whitehouse. Probably phone some random countries up ordering weapons and having them sent to Switzerland.

oh poor poor mortiz, there was no britain back then ,slavery was common and if you knew his story you would realise he escaped and went back to england but was 'called' back to ireland to preach the good mans word but obviously there are very few records from back then, most of what we know of patrick comes from his diary and 1 kept by another monk,i had to study it in college as part of my history course and most of are lecturers told us that george, patrick etc stories are extremely wide open with very few facts, but hey isnt religion in general :rolling: ,anyway i doubt many people think about him on paddys tbh, just a chance for a bit of craic

Let's see...
I'll get up, put on my "Ireland" t-shirt, go to class, go to work, change into a green button-down, go home, get last-minute soccer tournament arrangements taken care of, and go to bed.

What a farce this is.

We Brits are at least twice as drunk as you Irish :p

;)

get really, really, really drunk, probably skip college for the day...getting a new rad put in my car...that's all I have planned woo woo

Got other things to worry about...don't really give a damn ether.

So no St. Patricks day for me.

not really, just thought i'd share some facts or rather the lack of relating to him and all the lads from back then :dork: ;)

to be honest I don't believe in any of that old crap, the stories get twisted countless times through the ages. Though I was just pointing out that Patrick probably wasn't any more "Irish" than me!

heh, ol' paddy day. i love guiness, so 5 pints = a free guiness hat. Except my friend wants one... and he doesnt drink guiness... 10 pints for me! :x
